Al Khatim, Jebel Shams (3 Hours)

Enjoy one of Oman’s most scenic and accessible mountain walks with the Rim Hike – W6, a guided hiking experience along the dramatic edges of Jebel Shams, the highest mountain in Oman. This beginner-friendly hike offers breathtaking panoramic views of the famous Wadi Ghul, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Arabia.

Tour Overview

The excursion begins with a drive to Al Hamra, where the professional hiking guide is picked up. From here, the journey continues up to Al Khatim, the starting point of the rim hike.

Guests walk along the canyon rim, enjoying spectacular views of Jebel Shams and stunning aerial perspectives deep into Wadi Ghul. The trail is relatively gentle, making it ideal for beginners who wish to experience Oman’s dramatic mountain landscapes without technical difficulty.

At the end of the trek, the driver/guide meets the group and returns to Al Hamra. The hiking guide disembarks here, while guests are transferred to The View or any other accommodation in the Jebel Shams area to continue their stay.
